One of the most spectacular (and hidden gem) destinations in the whole of Spain can be found just a 90-minute drive from Santander’s ferry port. Picos de Europa is a 671 square-kilometre national park that includes huge jagged mountains, immense lakes and some of the most incredible walking routes anywhere in the world. Santillana del Mar - 30 min drive from Santander Ferry Port

Santillana del Mar is one of the most well-preserved medieval towns in the whole of Spain and is a very popular day-trip from Santander. The town itself is often referred to as a ‘living museum’ with many of its houses built between the 14th and 18th centuries. There are plenty of cafes to enjoy your cortado out on the street and a very relaxing, slower-pace to life here. Perfect to relax and unwind!
