Hull Ferry Port Information

About The Port

Hull ferry port is located on the north bank of the Humber on the east coast of England. It is one of the largest and busiest ferry ports in the country. It is also one of the most important ports for transferring cargo and passengers to the continent.

There are currently 2 ferry services from Hull that connect England with the north of Europe. Both are offered by P&O Ferries with one going to the Europort Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the other to Zeebrugge in Belgium. These crossings are perfect if you want to travel further to Amsterdam or Bruges respectively. There are two terminals and they are both located at King George Dock.

The port has a history that dates back all of the way to 1778 when it was simply named “The Dock”. The ferry port itself originates back to 1907 with Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (L&YR) and NER’s joint ferry to Zeebrugge.

Directions For Getting There

Follow the signs to King George Dock & Ferries. Those that are travelling to Rotterdam can park in the multi-storey car park, whilst there are 3 open-air car parks in front of the terminal building for those travelling to Zeebrugge.

If you are travelling by coach, there are a number of coach services that operate straight into Hull from up and down the UK. From here, a bus transfer to the ferry port is very easy.

If you are travelling by rail, Hull Paragon Railway Station is connected to towns and cities from all over the country. To reach the port from here, there is a bus that departs at 17:15 hours.
