The main ferry port in Guernsey is the St Peter Port which is located on the east coast of the island. The history of the port dates all of the way back to the 13th century, where it was in the perfect location for medieval shipping that took place across the English Channel. The port became a refuge and common port of call. From this point, the port continued to develop further all of the way up to the modern port that we see today.
The services that operate from St Peter Port include Condor Ferries which run between Guernsey and Jersey, St. Malo, Poole and Portsmouth. Manche Iles Express is another ferry company that operates here. They have routes between Guernsey and Jersey, Poole, Portsmouth, Cherbourg, Diellette, and St. Malo. There is only one ferry terminal here.
Directions For Getting There
If you are travelling by car, you are advised to head towards St. Julian’s Avenue and to continue straight over the roundabout. Here you will find signs to the ferry port and parking. There is short and long stay parking as well as a Vehicle Check In point.
If you are travelling by bus, the nearest bus stop is located in the town centre, which is just a 5-minute walk away from the port.
